The Passing of a Legend

One of my favorite chef's of all time has passed away at the age of 91, Michel Guérard, MOF, 3 Michelin star, and inventor of "cuisine minceur" (healthy cooking) in France. I would always watch him (and still do) on the old French cooking show La Grande Cocotte, and I saw him recently on Les Carnets de Julie giving Julie Andrieu a tour of his vegetable garden. He was funny and considered a prankster. He trained many chefs, including Alain Ducasse. He was among the last few of the Nouvelle Cuisine and Paul Bocuse generation. RIP. [photo from Le Monde]
