OH-SO-EASY Crème Fraîche Chocolate Ice Cream
It's ice cream season! Naturally I love chocolate ice cream, but one of my favorite recipes I developed requires a lot of steps: cooking, cooling, churning, then freezing before I can finally scoop out a bowl to enjoy my efforts. The results are delicious but the time involved often becomes a deterrent when I'm in the mood for chocolate ice cream. But with this recipe, you don't have to worry about any of those steps when you're in the mood for a cold, creamy chocolate fix during the summer months. This is my EASIEST chocolate ice cream recipe. It comes together in just 5 minutes using only 4 easy ingredients before it's ready for the freezer. I developed this recipe using crème fraîche, one of the most underused products in the dairy case, which is a shame because it's so creamy and lush and can be used in many ways. It's a thickened cultured cream with a mild tanginess I love, lending this ice cream a buttery and slightly nutty accent behind the chocolate flavor. I hope you'll enjoy this unique twist on the dairy used in this ice cream.
Add whipped cream, toasted nuts, more chocolate shavings, or any of your favorite ice cream toppings.
